Fr Tony (Dutchy) Guelen, who died 25 October 2017, was Holland’s loss but Melbourne’s gain. A young Dutch immigrant, he did his seminary studies at Corpus Christi College, spent 14 years as a curate then 38 years as PP of two outer, developing parishes. He was a likeable person, a caring pastor, a far-sighted planner and a superb administrator.
