True churchmen for our time
On January 6 we said farewell to a very special Australian churchman, bishop Geoffrey Robinson. I first met him as a Canon Law teacher at St Patrick’s College Manly in the 70’s. He was a serious operator and he seemed to me to be a bit aloof. He was shy and a man of few words and he remained so till the end. I shared a meal with him and a few friends just weeks before his death and he was typically measured in speech.
