Holy Ground

Toan Nguyen, a priest of Archdiocese of Sydney and parish priest of St Francis Xavier’s Ashbury. He reflects on his sabbatical in Israel.

I am now at Tantur Ecumenical College which boasts on its website it is ‘an Oasis of Learning, Community and Hospitality’. There are quite a few excursions in the three month sabbatical program in which participants are able to visit historical sites such as Herodium, a citadel palace built by Herod the Great believed to be his final resting place, or familiar places such as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre or the Church of the Nativity.
